Sly Spark Quilt Pattern - Printed Version

Have you made HST blocks? Then you can totally make this pattern.

If you can sew a straight seam, you can make this pattern! It looks harder than it is.

RULERS NEEDED:

• Use our BeeLiner 4.5 Ruler to trim your QST and HRT Blocks with Ease: Watch Our How To Video Here.
• OR, you can also use the BeeLiner HRT 2.5.
• These rulers are not necessary; they just make it easier. A regular ruler that measures larger than 2.5"x4.5" will work with additional markings from a Sharpie.

Sly Spark gets its powerful movement from Split Quarter Rectangle Triangles. You make left and right versions using the two-at-a-time method. That means there is no pesky bias to make your blocks stretch out of shape. The pattern allows for additional overage on the block that is trimmed away to help you avoid unhelpful bias completely.

The process is VERY similar to making Half Square Triangles two-at-a-time, but the angle is a little different. Because most regular rulers don't include that necessary line to assist with trimming, Mitzie has created a ruler specifically for this pattern. It also works for the Hush Punk pattern and Tambo Star.
